Hey.
Though I guess you can access yo ur bookmarks from tehre, I don't think the
library needs to be turned on for you to bookmark and access bookmarks. I don't
usually use winamp to play stuff online however I used to do so more and the
bookmarks worked fine. Just access the bookmarks list from the main window
using whatever keystroke that is, or alt f, b, or arrow to the bookmarks
submenu, and there they should be.

If I want to bookmark something, then yes...that's when I need for the library
to be turned on! I suppose (if I can remember how to do it) turn that off to
see if that helps!

DO you use the library? If not, I would close that. I never use it; it just
gets in the way, and yes, it can connect to the internet, so maybe that's
connected with this thing you are getting.

Okay...now that I realized that I was doing '"alt-tab" (instead of "control
tab) I think I'm on the right track now, so with control-tab, I find that
Winamp library, Winamp editor and main window are open; hopefully this is the
information you need to know!

OK, this sounds like you do not have any other tabs so to speak open in Winamp
which are actually necessary for us to use the player/program. Unless you did
not try Control+Tabbing to see (you did not mention it at all if you did).

So instead of Alt+T to toggle the mini-browser tab, try Alt+W to open up the
main window of the player and see then if you can Control+Tab to it after
toggling it.

Here are a list of keystrokes along with the window/tab that will be opened or
closed/toggled.

Alt+W Toggle Main Window.

Alt+E Toggle Playlist Editor.

Alt+G Toggle Equalizer.

Alt+T Toggle Mini-browser.

Alt+S Go to Skin selection.

Ctrl+P Go to Preferences.

With Winamp in focus (which it is as it usually is the only window that is open
when I open Winamp, I hit alt-T (as I am pretty sure this is what you said) but
on my machine, with Winamp open, "alt-T" does absolutely nothing! Tell me what
it is I'm missing here?

With Winamp in focus, Control+Tab through to see which tabs it is that you
actually have opened and if you can not Control+Tab then your focus is not at
Winamp.

So figure out how you can get Winamp actually in focus and do the Control+Tab
to see which tabs are actually opened and write them down here for us so we can
see more of what is what.

I tried hitting "alt-T"...no soap; that page still opens! Got any other
suggestions? Thanks!

When Winamp opens try just using the keystroke of
Alt+T to close that specific tab which is a mini-browser tab which is not
necessary to be opened before one can use Winamp which I am guessing is what is
causing this page to be opened.

You may want to Control+Tab to cycle through whichever other tabs you have open
before closing the mini-browser to make sure that you still will actually have
other tabs open so you will not accidentally close the only open tab causing
different problems.

Hello Joe and list: Okay...I decided to try what you have said about this
problem of having a webpage pop up whenever I open Winamp; I don't do well with
tree views, so what I need from you are step by step instructions (that even I
will understand) that'll tell me where this "disable network thingy is, for I'm
just not seeing it and I don't want to totally screw something up! I know that
with Winamp, wherever you close out is where you'll come back to when you
re-open Winamp again, so like I said, I need complete, step-by-step"
instructions on how to navigate this tree view, so I can stop this thing from
bringing up that dang webpage! Sure...I can get rid of it quick enough, but I
don't want it popping up at all as this just creates a step that I don't need
to be bothered with! Thanks in advance!

Hello Tom,

when you have closed the browser, and winamp is displayed, press control-p for
preferences, go to general at the top of the tree view, then disable network
access.

That should, should, fix it.

HTH.
