------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jan 19 09:27:16 -0800 2005 ------- hello cloph quote You even have a <tab>-key on your keyboard unquote well, you did not catch the point, right? okay, I guess we should try to find someone experienced in developing editors. Let us see, who can assist. By the way: VIM: overwrites with hex09 but displays (5) spaces) Word: Vers. 97: behaves like an editor and inserts hex09 wordpad: - doc:overwrites with Hex09 - rtf: tag inserted (\tab) notepad etc: behave as normal editors OO.o: Overwrites letters with tag: xml-tag <text:tab-stop/> and viceversa Pagemaker: even has no overwrite mode (my old version) Wordperfect: moves cursor on TAB in overwrite only, no insert HTML-Editors: Have no TAB and insert spaces Mozilla even has no overwrite mode mostly: TAB is disabled in Overwrite-mode If you like, you can have what you want. I am not sure whether this makes any sense for arguing. just to re-type others failures? note: - all writer-programs that treat TAB as a tag or control behave right - in principle - and should treat it always that way - all editors, that treat TAB as Hex09 behave right programs, that mix up both behaviors seems to be crazy, but when overwriting first kill a tag and than insert a letter is more than strange - and has nothing to do with xml - bytheway.
