------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Jan 21 06:33:31 -0800 2005 ------- I just tested Lucida Sans and a few other fonts, and believe I understand how LS works. First of all, it doesn't work well; the diacritics aren't well centered. Second, I believe I understand somewhat why. The diacritics seem to have their own length, and that length is better set than in other font collections. However, since the diacritics have their own length (so I speculate) instead of their length and position being proportional to the letter they relate to, a diacritic may shift near a yod or similarly non-average width letters. That is a solution that works somewhat and it is the best we can do with OOo, however, I can't wait for the new ICU (3.2) to be integrated in OOo. Is my analysis kind of right? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
