In OOo 1.9 the Tools > Data Source dialog has gone. To add a data source I have
to use File > New > Database.

Think for a moment about the logic behind this. I already have a spreadsheet
(for example) and I want to register that spreadsheet as a datasource with OOo.
Instead of some option to register or create a new data source, I have to go
through the dialog to create a new database.

When I was looking for this function, the first place I looked was a button in
the View > Data Sources (F4) pane. It seems obvious to me (from a UI
perspective) that the pane where I can view and manipulate data sources would
also be an appropriate place to add and remove them.
