Of course you can drag the palette outside. The issue is just about the moment when you drag the palette loose from docked state. So to reproduce: 1. Dock the stylist to the right of the window 2. Klick into an empty space on the Stylist to grab it. 3. Grab it; now only the contour (wireframe) is visible. and you can drag loose. 4. Try to drag this contour outside the parent window (as in my screenshot). You must not drop it in the meantime of course (because then the wireframe is gone. As soon as you hit the frame of the parent window the contour (wireframe) disappears. Reproduceable in Debian/KDE (OOo 1.9.71.1), but I'm not sure whether this can be attributed to OOo or to the underlying desktop or window manager.
