To switch it off I take the following steps: - open Tool>Spellcheck - open Options... - unmark "Check spelling as you type" - OK - Close (Spellcheck dialog) => Mistyped words are still marked as incorrect. BTW, the AutoSpellcheck button in the toolbar works fine.
