To differentiate OpenOffice to MS Office etc. OO should contain a module for
taking, managing and organizing notes and other kind of (short) text. This is
very helpful for all kind of technical reference, personal information
management, collecting ideas, creating journals etc. Companies could build small
 structured textual databases for knowledgebases, call centers, technical staff
etc. For reference see the following apps:

devonnote  (http://www.devon-technologies.com/products/devonnote/devonnote.php)
treepad  (http://www.treepad.com) or
keynote  (http://www.tranglos.com/free/keynote.html)

The OO module should be able to:
* organize different notes or texts in a tree structure
* formattting text (with a reduced, meaningful set of formattings like RTF
editors)
* insert links (internal to other notes or to external sources)
* insert tables
* store all information within one xml-file
* export to text, rtf and html (complete tree and/or single notes)
* fast search (indexed) in complete tree and/or single note

This would be the first platform-independent implementation of such a tool and
would allow to exchange the collected information crossing platform borders.
