2005 -------
Those fonts probably don't have GPOS tables to use to position the vowels, 
whereas fonts like Ezra SIL, SBL Hebrew, and Cardo do. Because of this, those 
Microsoft fonts aren't good for Hebrew. 
 
Did previous versions of OOo render properly with those fonts? 
 
I think ICU may have used a heuristic for older fonts without GPOS tables, but 
this heuristic method of vowel positioning is no longer used.
