------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Sep 27 06:19:16 -0700 2005 ------- I am adding another file illustrating the issue. It does only contain 'native' openoffice elements: text and 156 OOo Calc equations, which is not atypical for technical documents. It is 288 KB in size, 1.38 MB uncompressed. Each object is 6 KB uncompressed. It is the OLE objects that are causing the delays in saving. This document needs 45 seconds to be saved with Writer version 2 RC 1. MS WORD SAVES THE SAME DOCUMENT IN NOT HALF A SECOND !(same document, exported in Writer, converting Math objects to MS Equation 3 objects). Needles to say that for documents longer in size, saving times become increasingly unworkable. I am reporting it again now, mainly to show this is a fundamental issue related to the current document format and implementation of saving to it. Slow saving of this new example file is not due to the inclusion of large graphics from another application as in the first example. It is due to the inclusion of several small OLE objects, all from within OOo and is representative for a typical moderately sized technical document. I hope at one moment this issue can receive due attention to see whether this behaviour can be improved under the current framework. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
