The way Excel handles this is indeed not a good archetype. I always found it
confusing.
Your suggestion on this sounds sensible. ("Until the user edits any cell, or
starts a new selection".) That said, I don't know how easy or hard it will be to
implement this. But I will pass it to the developers. Thanks for the suggestion.
