That answer really baffles me.  OK, "A" can be considered part of "B", but where
is that explained in the documentation?  Does that excuse the multiplicity of
terms used for (what may or may not be) the same thing?  Because the PowerPoint
documentation on this is a mess, does that mean that OOo shouldn't strive to be
better?  Is MS the criterion on this?

How hard would it be to clean up the UI and documentation to be CONSISTENT and
CLEAR on this?  Why not set a good example?

I note also that in the Impress Forum, many of the questions are from folks
puzzled about customizing their presentations.  Hello?  Doesn't that seem to say
that there is something amiss?  Or do we assume they are all idiots?
