Hi Eric,

From your email address I guessed your name, correct me if I am
wrong. Thank you very much for your reply. I actually found the
problem, yes as you said, it is X11. As you were saying I wasn't
aware that X11 was not automatically upgraded. Also, I believe I was
installing the wrong language version, I was downloading that from
http://macosxrc.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/ooomisc/ MacOSXrc/
which contained French versions (version number 1.9.125). Since, I
managed to get 1.9.130 English version. After I installed X11, I am
using it without any problem, I even installed more fonts according to
instructions on http://trinity.neooffice.org.

The whole suite is lovely, thanks a lot such a beautiful piece of
free software.

Yours faithfully,
Dingwei Xin

Hi,

First, thank's for your interest in OpenOffice.org.

Regarding the error message you have, X11 is probably not installed, or not up to date. If you are using Tiger, Apple has choosen to not automatically upgrade X11 while Panther-to-Tiger upgrade, and you must install it : start an install with the Tiger DVD choose "customize", select X11 only and install it. Maybe
your problem will disappear

Important : we need more information to understand exactly the problem you have. Can you please give us the exact version number of OpenOffice.org you are trying
to install, and describe what you exactly did ?

Thank's in advance
