@cyb: not sure about this waitpid thing. Not sure whether the semantics have
changed in 2.0, but in 1.1 when soffice process started first time, this process
instance kept running, when it is started a second time, the new office connects
to the old office via a pipe and transports command line args and then 
terminates.

Your code would work when an office is started already, does it also work when
no office (quickstarter, etc.) is running before ?

Have you checked on windows and unix ?

Otherwise, the code looks ok for me.
