This issue unfortunately hits several bugs or problems at once. First of all,
the formula text is a foreign OLE object (display is correct for OOo's internal
formula editor). Then, to display foreign OLEs, the provided preview metafile is
used. This metafile now gets rendered into a _bitmap_ for the slideshow, because
there's currently code in place that falls back to bitmaps, if the metafile
appears to be too complex. Next, though this bitmap theorectically can transport
alpha information, it does not do so for antialiased text.

Fixing one of the three problems will fix this bug.
