During and after setup of openoffice 1.9.125 all fonts except window titles are
in unreadable symbol font. The package, downloaded using the openoffice torrent,
contained rpms converted to tgz for install on slackware using rpm2tgz, which
were subsequently installed using slackwares' pkgtool. Of course I have no
slackware system font set to symbol in my slackware configuration.

At first I did not have freetype, but I installed freetype and reinstalled
openoffice, but that did not help. The welcome wizard won't reappear though. I
tried to re-rpm2tgz and install, also to no avail.

I run linux slackware 10.2
kernel 2.6.12
processor athlon-xp
java jre-1_5_0_04-i586-2
