------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Oct 27 08:43:39 -0700 2005 ------- I resubmitted this issue following to MRU advice who closed issue # 56727. I consider it as a show stopper to migrate from MS Word to OO. MS Word inserted default tables are always wider in OO. The reason why described in the issue 56727. Many people use tables without border lines to format documents. Actually this is the most widely used their feature because if somebody needs rich table functionality she or he will go with spreadsheet program. For instance, I have plenty of them in may resume. When I placed tables in MS Word then text in the first and last cells is aligned with text which does not belong to any table and both occupy the FULL space between document margins. When I do the same in the OO, text in the first and last cells shifted towards document center living gaps from document margins. I will submit the document with two default tables where you will see it for yourself. Besides there are other issues with this. Consider next scenarios. 1. I am working together with somebody on one document. She has sent me a document created in MS Word with default tables in it. I have to add more information in OO also using default (OO tables). We get ugly document. 2. I am (and many other people) using very often tables without border to format document. In MS Word default tables my text in tables’ cells are in the page margins which is not the case in OO. Actually both scenarios in my previous note happened when I consider to switch from MS Word to OO. I started with my resume which was formatted with many tables. So I had document created in MS Word and wanted to add more information in tables there then ... I filed this issue. It is worth noting that this table handling has been in MS Word at least since Word 1997. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
