I am a developer/maintainer for the open source image processing program GIMP.
We have been getting some bug reports that apparently are caused by a problem in
the Gtk+ package that OO.o is distributing -- namely, 2.6.9 rev a. The problem
shows up in Windows XP, and causes GIMP to crash when the user tries to create a
new image, so it is a killer. For details, please see

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=317570

for more information.

Thanks for any assistance you can give. I can't reproduce this problem myself,
but if you need more information, our users have been very helpful in tracking
down the source of the problem.
