------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Nov 8 11:15:44 -0800 2005 ------- When using a numbering style attached to the paragraph style Heading1, or using the Outline level, the text in the "before" field and numbering does not behave correctly. recreate: create a multipage doc, place arbitrary text on each page, one word will do. two options- edit numbering style 1 to insert "Chapter " before and " " after. Use 1,2,3 numbering. edit Heading1 to use numbering1 and autoupdate or use Outline Level to do same thing... edit numbering2 to insert "Appendix " before and " " after; USE LEVEL1 ! also change from 1,2,3 to A,B,C in your doc, assign the first line on some of the pages to Heading1. you should get numbering and Chapter correct. now go to the next first line, assign Heading1 but manually change numbering style to numbering2. do the same for remaining first lines. Check in Navigator to make sure all is well. Now test re-numbering by re-assigning your titles to Heading2 and back to Heading1; try swapping numbering styles. Sometimes you can go back&forth, sometimes it will refuse to insert the number/letter and the text. when it fails, hit return on the title line and the text will appear on the next line. In general, try to get the document to control its chapters and appendices correctly, while both are at outline level 1. additionally: using the promote-demote chapter button in Nav doesn't work. workaround: start with a fresh never-formatted line to get a title, don't cut and paste. Not tested: OS other than Linux Also broken in: 1.1.4, beta 2 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
