Text that is center justified in OO becomes left justified when saved in rtf 
format and opened in Wordpad. The problem does not occurr if the file is saved 
in Word97 format.

A little extra info that may or may not have a bearing on the problem.

I can cause a slightly different result depending on the the style of the 
first line of text, as follows:

For three lines of centered text -
if the first line of text has the "Text body" style only the third line of 
text becomes left justified. However, if the first line of text has "Default" 
style the following two lines of text become left justified.
