That bug is present (the same 1 byte file) in StarOffice 7u5 (and sure it should be in ooo-1.x.x) when saving in a remote folder using fuse/sshfs. So if any user that wants to work with remote filesystems using ooo must use shfs if have ooo-v1.x.x or fuse/sshfs when have ooo-v2.0.
