------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Dec 1 13:39:04 -0800 2005 ------- Addition of a button in OO Writer to calculate the readability of a document would be very helpful. The Flesch-Kincaid Readability Score can be calculated from: 206.835 - 1.015 (total words / total sentences) - 84.6 (total syllables / total words) The score has a scale of 0-100. 90-100 is average readability for a 5th grade person (USA), 60-70 is readable by an 8th or 9th grader. The Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level can be calculated from: 0.39 (total words / total sentences) + 11.8 (total syllables / total words) - 15.59 The Gunning Fog Index can be calculated from: Reading Level (Grade) = (Average No. of words in sentences / Percentage of words of three or more syllables) x 0.4 Readability tests are well documented on Wikipedia. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
