------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Dec 7 11:32:55 -0800 2005 ------- Start a new document Go to the outline numbering dialog box. Use the numbering tab, for Level 1, Paragraph Style, with default Heading 1. Leave the number dropdown at its default of 'None'. At Separator Before field, enter a character (example: 'X'). Note that the 'X' does not display in preview window at right before the 'Heading 1' text in the dialog box. Close the dialog box and attempt to apply the Heading 1 style in the document. Nothing appears in the document and the outline toolbar does not pop up. Return to the outline numbering dialog box. Change the number dropdown at from its default to some numbered style (example '1, 2, 3, ...'). Note that the preview window changes to show 'X1 Heading 1'. Close the dialog. Document shows 'X1' and outline toolbar appears, the style is active and lower level outline numbers assigned to Levels 2 through Level 10 reflect the existence of each Level 1 entry in the document. Return to the outline numbering dialog box and restore the number dropdown to its default of 'None' and return to the document. It's as if no Level 1/Heading 1 entries exist. All of the Level 2 entries number as if they are part of a unbroken sequence without any Level 1 entries between them. In summary, it is now not possible to have a un-numbered Level 1. This is not working as OO1.1.4 worked and 1.1.4 documents imported into 002.0.1RC1 or RC2 are broken if they are using this mechanism to insert the word 'Chapter', 'Document Number' or 'Section' in the Separator Before field of Outline 1 Heading 1 followed by a non-sequential numbering system that can not be created using standard outline techniques It is also not working as OO2.0 worked, which though it has numerous outline problems, did import documents from OO1.1.4 formatted this way without problem. Such numbering systems are necessary in architect/engineer specifications to comply with Construction Specifications Institute standards (which are used throughout the U.S. commercial construction industry, see www.csinet.org including http://www.csinet.org/s_csi/docs/9400/9361.pdf), as well as those used for NASA, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy (NAVFAC) and US Air Force construction (Unified Facilities Guide Specifications, www.ccb.org/docs/ufgshome/UFGSToc.htm) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
