If I, for example, click on a link to a MS Word, Excel or PPT file on a website using Internet Explorer, it tries to invoke the OO.o ActiveX to render the document. The OO.o ActiveX control aborts with an error message - "An API call exited abnormally". The document is not opened, instead I see a blank gray area within IE.
