Note that I am *not* running either gnome nor KDE. My window manager is icewm.
I run it because it's supposed to be lighter than the others. In fact, I think
it's just a window manager, without many of the features of gnome or KDE.

Log Messages:

    (1) My original posting already noted a message that appeared
        in my ~/.xsession-errors file.

    (2) '/etc/init.d/xfs reload' yielded the following message
        in /var/log/messages:

        Dec 13 01:16:42 p-roman xfs: xfs -USR1 succeeded

    (3) Couldn't find anything in /var/log/gdm/:0.log.

You mentioned "OO.o". Is there an actual file by that name? I checked both the
directory tree where OO v2 is installed (/usr/local/openoffice.org2.0) & my
configuration directory tree (~/.openoffice.org2), and I could not find any file
 *.o.

I'm not able to use any configuration dialog to change the font. The very
problem I'm having means that the text & fields are too big for the window, and
I cannot resize the window to make it large. E.g., I don't see the OK button,
so I can't click on it. I'd probably have to do one of the following:

    [a] edit a config file
[b] find & install the correct font
[c] make a symbolic link so that the system *thinks*
there is a font by the name it's looking for.
