File->Send->Create Master Document (I chose file name "test".) This will create the files called test.odm, test1.sxw, test2.sxw, and test4.sxw. It then opens the top-level document test.odm 3. In the Navigator, right-click on test1.sxw. Select Delete. 4. Rename test1.sxw to foo.sxw. (Outside of OpenOffice) 5. In the Navigator, right-click test2. Select Insert->File. Select foo.sxw.
