I have another suspect: all the mentioned keys and it function that do not work on your machine can be customized in Tools.Customize. This configuration is stored in the Windows-User directory like C:\Dokuments and Settings\Michael\Applicationdata\OpenOffice.org2 Maybe this interferes with the config folder of an older OO installation.
