Exact reproduction instructions: Edit a loaded document and wait for OOo to save AutoRecovery information (default 15 minutes). There should be a property entry in Recovery.xcu looking like this: <prop oor:name="TempURL" oor:type="xs:string"> <value>file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Administrator/Application%20Data/OpenOffice.org2/user/backup/verbs.xls_8.ods</value> </prop> Now, kill the soffice process, and run the recovery tool.
