------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Dec 18 01:16:20 -0800 2005 ------- When creating a mail merge document, conditional formatting always detects the tested condition as TRUE -- even when it's actually false -- whenever the registered database name contains dash(es) or underscore(s). This is true of Hidden Paragraph condition as well as Conditional Text; don't know about others. Registered database name can be as long as you wish if it contains no dashes or underscores, but if dash or underscore exists, it fails even for registered database names less than 8 chars long. There is no warning of unacceptable characters in filename, either in the Address Book Data Source Wizard, or the help screens titled Data Source Name (context help for wizard) and Database Link (context help for editing registered database name in Options). I ran across this problem using a rather "busy" spreadsheet as the data source for the registered database, then repeated it using a newly created, very simple spreadsheet with 3 columns and 2 rows. I have not tested for misbehavior with other non-alphanumeric characters in registered database name.
