Hi!

scalc is using a huge amount of memory. On my 512MB-Laptop opening a single
16kB-ods-file with 10x20 (rows x columns) scalc needs 165MB/95MB
(VmSize/VmRss) RAM. The spreadsheet does not contain any kind of graphic or
whatsoever. Creating the same sheet with e.g. kspread or gnumeric needs less
than 1/4 of memory. Usually I have opened many files on my desktop, so I do
not have so much free memory. Opening a ods-document usually slows down the
whole desktop, because of swaping.

I think this is not a scalc-issue, because opening e.g. a single 32kB-odt
document, needs about 100MB (Rss). So this seems to be a OO-problem.

Luckily this do not add up, i.e. opening more than one document does not
increasing the memory so much, so this seems to be a global overhead-problem.

Beste regards,

Michael
