Good to know that "$" is working ofr paragraph marks, which is not at all
evident from the help file : 
<<Only finds the search term if the term appears at the end of a paragraph.
Special objects such as empty fields or character-anchored frames at the end of
a paragraph are ignored. Example: "Peter$".>>

However this does only seem to work if not combined with other regular 
expressions.
I have tried your example, but added to some lines a TAB before the paragraph 
mark.
Then I tried to find "\t$" and replace it with "\t" : this does not take out the
paragraph marks from the lines with a TAB.
