This seems strange.

Please provide your full operation system version, e.g. "Windows XP SP2 64 bit
version" and your MS office version. e.g. MS office 2003. your windows
version can be obtained by clicking Start>Run, typing winver and clicking OK.
your office version can be obtained from the Help>About of any office program.

Also please tell us what version of OpenOffice.org you are using.

It would help if you provided reproducable steps on your machine. For
example. Power On> Log on (As an administrator / limited user). Click
Start>Programs>Office>Word. This type of information will help us diagnose a
problem.

There is one thing I can think of that may help you to fix your problem. From
within a Microsoft Office product you can run "Help>Detect and Repair...".
This should auto-fix any MS office problems you may have.

I can think of no reason why OpenOffice would conflict with MS office in any
way as it does not go near it at all. If you respond with more information
the issue may be confirmed and sent to a developer.

Dropping to P2, as if it is correct, action may need to be taken.
