In fact, he has found the real original (issue 58477). In fact, even the issue 45438 sstarted in the same direction, but the discussion in it has veered towards "Crossing of cell borders"; so technically it is a different issue. (I never attempted to select text across a cell's border into the neighboring cell.) But other issues describe exactly what I wanted to say. Since those issues were raised before this one, and this issue can indeed be closed.
