I've created a couple of mock ups that can be used as a starting point for discussion. I'm using OO v2.0.1 for Windows, for my examples. I feel this is an oversight and suggest the following UI modifications. A screen shot of the present right-click context menu. Every entry on the context menu modifies the document _except_ "Open Hyperlink", and left-clicking on the hyperlink opens the hyperlink, a far more preferable user action. As more is not always better, I suggest removal of the "Open Hyperlink" menu item. Additionally, there's a facility to modify hyperlinks within the Character dialog box. A hyperlink is a different beast than any of the other character modifications. Additionally, a hyperlink does not necessarily change the appearance of the character string (nor does it need to even contain a character string as a visual element).
