------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Feb 1 09:35:23 -0800 2006 ------- I think you'll find that's because WinXP's Luna theme (the default) gives what Windows calls "3D objects" (read: window/toolbar background colours) is near-white. OpenOffice (I believe) will use the background colour as its reference to begin doing the fade-out effect from, to white. So if the background is already white, there's not much fading to do.
