------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Feb 10 23:58:08 -0800 2005 ------- Sorry, perhaps I communicated this wrongly. When OOo 2 base starts, it goes straight to the wizard, and that doesn't have any option for working with the databases I created in my previous sessions. It gives a choice of either: + Create a new database + Connect to an existing database Logic would point to choosing the second option "Connect to an existing database" as being the right choice. However, choosing that does no good, it's only for defining a new data source and doesn't allow connecting to the existing defined databases. In contrast, Impress gives three options in its startup wizard: + Empty presentation + From template + Open existing presentation As you point out, the end user can open their existing documents through this (using the third option). There is no such option in Base. Base's "open existing presentation" doesn't do that, it instead creates a new data source. Users *cannot* get to their existing databases through the wizard. Did I explain it more clearly this time?
