Record macros to apply repeatable changes to pasted text. (Steps are applied to text as recorded.) 4. Save document. 5. Copy info from next source to clipboard. 6. Use Ctrl+A to select all existing text, then Ctrl+V to paste new text. 7. Use Ctrl+F10 to see non-printing characters. 8. From custom toolbar, run macro "replace_all_newlines" on text. Nothing happens. Try running fom "Run macro..." menu item, still nothing. 9. Ctrl+U to Undo back to step 2, run macros, they work. This doesn't happen every time. I have yet to track down a recurring culprit. The same source can be applied with varying success. Also, saving and re-opening the file may or may not help. I doubt that my system is too taxed to run the macros, and I do allow a fair amount of time to see if they "catch up". I had to attach OO to JRE 1.5.0_06 to use the macros, because I hadn't needed Java in OOo (or, at least, hadn't received a notice about it) after uninstalling 1.5.0_05.
