This scaling is applied to the size of the video-representing frame in the slide preview without taking care of any aspect ratio. In editing mode and in presentation mode the video object is scaled with preserved aspect ratio, even for playback. In the editing and presentation modes, the video is scaled correctly only if it has been scaled down. If it has been scaled above its original size, it is displayed in original size, centered in a black window. See attached screenshot.
