it looks like the semantics of getLocalHostName are not suitable to the
requirement of identifying the host on which the app is running.
What we need is something that works like hostname (1). On windows, such a
function should return the 'Machine Name'.
Since you told me, that you are already working on such a function, I suggest
setting this issue to a duplicate to the task for that function.
