I'll propose a patch to introduce CFLAGS_* to distinguish: -- Use CFLAGS_* instead of CXXFLAGS_* as compiler option for C programs. I changed common_percent_rules.mak to do that. -- -ftemplate-depth-32 is contained only in CXXFLAGS_*, not in CFLAGS_*.
