Vector drawings created in Adobe Illustrator 9.0 and saved as EPS files, then
imported into OpenOffice yield the following results :

Saving eps file from illustrator setting "version 8.0 or 9.0" will import as an
empty box stating the creator software and creation date.

Saving eps file from illustrator setting "version all from 3.0 to 7.0" and no
document preview will import as an empty box stating the creator software and
creation date.

Saving eps file from illustrator setting "version all from 3.0 to 7.0" with
document preview, will import into openoffice as a _very_ low resolution,
upscaled, bitmap of the image. Also prints the same.
The actual vector image as in illustrator cannot be seen in Writer.
