It's possible that there are *several* bugs being triggered by my document - I have been editing it heavily over the last few days and avoided CTRL+Z and no crashes. Then, last night, I used used it and it crashed again. This is not a 'scientific' observation but 2.0.2RC1 seems to be MORE stable with regard to this issue.
