Sounds as if you do not have the correct dictionary for your language. Pls.
check in Menu "Format - Character - Font - Language" whether the correct
language (with check mark!) is selected.
Also pls. check in Menu "Tools - Options - Language settings - Writing Aids -
Available Language Modules " whether the correct dictionaries for your needs are
selected and available (with check mark!).
I am pretty sure that that's no OOo bug, but some problem with your system -
something became damaged. Please ask on an user mailing list if you can't solve
that problem; my be you should simply install a new spellchecker after you
saved your old user dicts.
Please check whether Issue 48472, Issue 54029 contain useful hints.
Pls feel free to reopen this issue if you find out that there _really_ is an OOo
specific problem.
