I have some friends that do use OO, but they are quite "casual" users, with very light and simple needs. Thus, it would be very unlikely for them to incur in such malfunctions. On the contrary, I would say that my use is so intensive that could be counted for three or four "average" users: I do about half my worktime using OO preparing texts, presentations, drawings and spreadsheets with anything conceivable embedded in them - lots of formulas, graphs, tables, images, sounds, animations. I do almost all my lectures (I am a university professor) with Impress. I also produce movies from Impress files for open distance learning courses. Off work, I again use OO a real lot: I am an activist in environmentalists associations, especially promoting biking and similar forms of low-impact mobility: all presentations, documents, reports, web files, large scale drawings for exibitions and events, even some semi-technical drawings of maps and road pre-projects, I do with OO. For this reasons, I am quite sure the problems described do happen, but I also know that they happen seldom. It is quite possibile that for the majority of "light to average" users such errors would not surface even once in years. Given this, what can I do?
