What do you think about an enhancement request to add override direct formatting directly to the color selection tool, making it 1 click to apply the color to the entire content if the user desires? In the method you describe if you want to change the color to green instead of black it would be Ctrl-Shift-Space, and then click the color selection tool, and select the new color as opposed to using only the color selection tool.
