I believe, a checkbox in the image dialogue that allows to decide for each image
whether paht should be absolute or relative would be a more comfortable
solution. I requested something similar for hyperlinks in issue 57721.

I believe we generally need more document specific or object specific
preferences and a clear visibility for what those preferences will be valid:
For example currently we have a checkbox in Menu "Tools - OOo Calc - Calculate"
where we can select whether calculations should be only done with precision as
shown. But it is not clear whether this is a preference for the document or for
OOo general. It seems that that preference is specific for the document, but it
looks like a general OOo preference. And what preference will be selected for
new documents? I did not find a clear description in HELP.

Do we have any specifications or developing guidelines for this?
