this is intentional.
Object are kept in cache for faster display. Your cache-settings are probably so
small that when scrolling another objects gets loaded and kicks out the one you
changed externally. (Use Tools|Options->OpenOffice.org -> Memory to configure
your cache size)
To force a refresh of inlcuded obects/references and formatting, either use
File|Reload to reload the file completely or use Tools|Update -> All (or Links)
to only refresh the document's content.
