------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Mar 27 04:37:53 -0800 2006 ------- system: WinXP station with OOo, documents on Samba shared network disks Problem: When document is opened and while it is opened, Samba is restarted, the document cannot be saved/saved as with message General Input Outpur error. this will happen when option use openoffice.org dialogs is checked. Solution: Before saving go to explorer, click on the network disk so the network connection is freshened. Then save. Why it is a problem: i compared this behaviour with WordPad which, as I presume, tries to restore the network connection. wordpad will freeze for few seconds but event. will offer saving. My understanding is that wordpad access the location in a different way, probably more windoze-like that OOo. Further: after i tried above mentioned i restarted Samba, unchecked the 'OOo dialog' option and I could not open/save at all untill OOo restarted. tried to go to explorer, tried to check again, tried to open local document. Same general input/output error. i closed the OOo (not the quickstarter) and it works again. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
