The filter appears to use O(n^2) lookups. The attached patch replaces the list with a hash and acheives significant speedups. The current code does not seem to require that names be unique on insertion but does assume that they are unique on extraction. Additionally code of the form for (i = 0 ; i < list.length() ; i++) use (list.getElement (i)); Should be avoided.
