It won't happen every day, but it definitely does happen when you spend some time editing the document (might take a few hours). I know that footnote anchor and text have to be on the same page, but I can assure you that it is not the issue here. Why, if this was the case, would the strange page break dissapear as soon as you insert a few empty paragraphs and delete them afterwards?
