Try this - delete soffice.exe rename soffice.bin to soffice.exe Double click soffice.exe OOo is launched. As far as I did, it worked well for doing all the work OOo does. What I mean is that, it is the real OOo program. I am not saying that soffice.exe is not needed, it might be for launching autorecovery as you said. But if there is some other method, please do that. Also what I 'felt' was the launching of OOo was 'faster' when I did the rename and direct run thing. Please analyse.
